The Zephyr is powered by economical and clean burning natural gas. One key features of natural gas is its lighter weight. The natural gas equivalent of one gallon of jet fuel weights over six percent less a gallon of jet fuel and requires 14.4% less volume. The Zephyr’s fuel burn per available seat mile is 26.1% less equivalent fuel than competitor’s aircraft. The current price of natural gas reduces the Zephyr’s fuel cost per trip by up to 68%.
